General Project Details
Why is the website being migrated?
TAC CIRA is phasing out the Standard and Standard Plus website packages and replacing them with the new Essential package. Members with Standard and Standard Plus websites will need to upgrade to the Essential or Ultimate package by Dec. 31, 2027.
The migration ensures your website is modern, secure, mobile friendly and easy to use. The new platform has improved accessibility features, and it’s easier for web users to navigate.
When are we required to migrate our websites?
Members with the Standard or Standard Plus must website packages must finish their migration by December 31, 2027. Regular timeline updates will be available at county.org and communicated through email.
Will my website’s URL change?
No, the main county website URL will remain the same. Although certain page URLs or bookmarks might experience some structural changes, redirects and straightforward instructions will be available to ensure an easy transition.
Content and Services
Will all current website content be retained on the new migrated website?
Yes, all website content will be retained when the site is migrated. However, some members may be able to save money consolidating web pages prior to migration. To learn more, visit our web consolidation resource page.
Is it easier to navigate the new websites?
Yes, the migrated websites are easier to navigate. The new websites will include improved search functions, user-friendly navigation options, and subject-oriented categories.
Will digital forms and payments continue to work?
Yes. All online payment systems, application requests and service forms will remain operational. Certain forms may appear different, but their functionality will either stay the same or improve
Accessibility, Security and Usability
Will the new website meet ADA standards?
The new website has enhanced accessibility features, which will help counties meet ADA standards. That said, members still need to make sure their content is compliant.
Will the migrated website work on mobile devices?
Yes, the migrated websites will be optimized for phones, tablets and desktops.
How will data security be handled during the migration?
All data will be transferred using secure protocols.
User Experience
Will my bookmarks function after the migration?
Bookmarks will automatically redirect. If there are substantial changes to the page structure, bookmarks may be directed to new location.
Is it possible for me to provide feedback regarding the new migrated website?
Yes, feedback is encouraged both during migration and post-migration. We will provide a feedback form, so members can report issues and leave comments.
Assistance with Technical Issues
What should I do if I can’t locate information once the site is operational?
Email CIRA Support to get support from a TAC CIRA staff member.
Will my website go offline during the migration?
Some downtime may occur. If maintenance is necessary, we will notify you immediately.
Will CIRA provide training?
Yes. To ensure a seamless transition, TAC CIRA will provide trainings and offer support.
Improvements to Come
How will my website improve after migration?
The new websites will have updated layouts that will help users navigate the site and find what they need quickly. The new websites will also have improved security features and enhanced accessibility capabilities.
How do we keep information up to date on the site?
The new websites have improved editing tools, making it easier for you to refresh web pages and post up-to-date information.
