    TAC RMP Regional Pool Workshop

Change is a part of life. Some of us see change as a disruption of our norms, and our lives, but we all know change is inevitable. During this presentation, the participants will learn the role of strategic change as part of a successful risk management program.

The presence of thorough documentation can make or break a case when it comes to employment actions, such as unemployment, starting from hiring to evaluating performance. Embark on an adventure to uncover the key components of effective documentation, timeliness and objectivity, and how to create records that can stand up to scrutiny.

Unpredictable weather patterns in recent years have caused an increase in the cost of protecting our properties, demanding a stronger focus on facility management. While the weather itself is beyond our control, we can significantly improve our facilities' resilience and reduce long term costs through proactive measures. These include implementing best practices for maintenance, fostering partnerships with vendors and TAC, and strategically planning replacements for roofs and buildings to maximize our investments. By prioritizing these steps before severe weather hits, you can ensure better outcomes for your facilities.

How you lead makes a difference, good or bad. Effective leaders recognize the value of demonstrating responsible leadership and promoting a strong organizational culture.  Actions matter when it comes to preserving a positive reputation and insulating an organization from costly liability exposure. Accusations like failing to properly screen, hire, train, or supervise employees are commonly made in attempts to associate vicarious liability to a leader, manager, or supervisor.  Being short on staff, experiencing high turnover, and having a lack of qualified applicants can be detrimental to the health of an organization and can lead to increased risk exposure for you, your employees, and the county. This course will identify successful leadership styles to assist you in building a strong culture that is capable of effectively combating frivolous civil claims and will demonstrate characteristics proven to better insulate you and your managers against potential Monel liability concerns.

This session will provide attendees with an understanding of what happens when a cybersecurity incident hits your county.  This session will place attendees in the driver's seat of what to do, not to do, and more importantly, who is doing what.
