Texas Government Code § 2054.5191 requires all county employees, elected officials and appointed officials who have access to a local government computer system or database to complete an annual cybersecurity training that has been certified by the Texas Department of Information Resources (DIR). Affected entities are required to report their staff’s completion of a certified course to DIR by Aug. 31 each year.

Enrollment for the 2025 training is currently closed. The 2026 training enrollment will open in November 2025.
