The Statewide Emergency Radio Infrastructure (SERI) Grant Program (FY2027)
The Statewide Emergency Radio Infrastructure (SERI) Grant Program (FY2027), administered by the Texas Office of the Governor’s Public Safety Office (PSO), provides funding to state and local agencies to enhance interoperable emergency communications across Texas. Eligible applicants—including units of local government, councils of government, and state agencies—can utilize funds to purchase, install, or upgrade radio infrastructure such as towers, repeaters, and microwave backhaul systems. A critical requirement of the program is that all equipment must be compliant with Project 25 (P25) standards to ensure seamless communication between different jurisdictions and agencies during emergencies. Additionally, any proposed infrastructure projects must be coordinated with the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Statewide Interoperability Coordinator (SWIC) to ensure alignment with the State Communications Interoperability Plan.
