    Membership Call: NACo Bylaws Review

Proposed updates to the National Association of Counties’ bylaws are under review as the organization prepares for its 2025 Annual Conference next month in Philadelphia.

NACo revisits its bylaws every four years. This cycle, the Bylaws and Governance Review Committee, chaired by Wise County Judge and NACo First Vice President J.D. Clark, is recommending a comprehensive refresh.

The goal of the committee, which also includes Comal County Treasurer Renee Couch, is to modernize, clarify and enhance the functionality of the bylaws. The proposed revisions will be presented to NACo members for a vote during the July conference.

County officials are encouraged to attend a NACo membership call on Monday, June 23, from 2 to 3 p.m. CDT (1 to 2 p.m. MDT). During the call, Judge Clark and NACo CEO and Executive Director Matt Chase will outline the proposed changes and explain their significance.
