AUSTIN – Denton County Treasurer Cindy Yeatts Brown was sworn in Friday as president of the Texas Association of Counties (TAC) Board of Directors. Her two-year term began Jan. 1.

“It’s a privilege to represent Denton County at the state level and to work alongside so many dedicated county officials,” Brown said. “Counties are where Texans most often interact with government, and TAC plays a critical role in making sure county officials have the tools and support they need. I’m excited to build on that work.”

Brown has served as Denton County treasurer since 1999 and joined the TAC Board of Directors in 2016. She previously served as president of the County Treasurers’ Association of Texas.

In the latest episode of TAC’s Texas County Voice podcast, Brown reflects on her public service career, from a part-time high school job in the Denton County Treasurer’s Office to her current leadership role. To listen, visit www.county.org/texascountyvoice.

Brown succeeds Yoakum County Commissioner Tim Addison, who will remain on the TAC Board in an ex officio role as immediate past president. Joining Brown as board officers are McLennan County Tax Assessor-Collector Randy H. Riggs as president-elect and Comal County Commissioner Jen Crownover as vice president.

“Cindy Brown brings deep experience, steady leadership and a clear understanding of county government to her role as president,” TAC Executive Director Susan M. Redford said. “We’re excited to have her guiding TAC as we serve counties and the Texans who rely on them.”

The TAC Board of Directors includes at least one county official from each county office. Board members help set the association’s policy priorities and oversee its budget and programs.
