TAC Named Top Workplace for Seventh Consecutive Year
TAC was ranked the No. 4 midsized company by the Austin American-Statesman
For the seventh year in a row, The Texas Association of Counties was named one of the best places to work in Austin.
In June 2025, 92% of TAC employees responded to an anonymous survey from the Austin American-Statesman and Energage. The high scores placed TAC as the fourth best midsize company in Austin.
“Our employees are the heart of TAC’s work,” Executive Director Susan M. Redford said. “This recognition reflects the care, professionalism and collaboration they bring to serving counties every day. I am incredibly proud of this team.”
The Energage survey measures key factors that contribute to a healthy workplace, including engagement, leadership, growth opportunities and connection to mission.
In addition to answering multiple choice questions, employees left comments about the workplace.
“I am challenged and pushed to be the very best me I can,” one TAC employee wrote. “I have been presented with opportunities that I may not have pursued if it wasn't for TAC and I have grown so much because of them.”
TAC’s Top Workplaces history highlights a culture of consistency and growth. In 2023, Redford received the Top Workplaces Leadership Award for midsized companies, and in 2024, TAC earned a special commendation for culture excellence in employee appreciation.

As TAC celebrates this latest recognition, the focus remains the same: supporting employees so they can support counties.
