The Texas Association of Counties Health & Employee Benefits Pool (TAC HEBP) is one of the oldest, largest and most successful public-sector benefit pools in the nation. The program enables counties and county-related entities to combine, or pool, their purchasing power, increasing contract control and decreasing costs.

The BCBSTX Fitness Program offers flexibility, convenience and ease for just one low monthly fee. Members have access to a nationwide network of more than 10,000 participating facilities so they can work out whether traveling, at home or at work. The BCBSTX Fitness Program will be waiving the enrollment fee (a value of $25) for eligible new members who sign up between Dec. 1-31.
Healthy County will be transitioning to a new-and-improved wellness portal with Sonic Boom in Feb. 2019. The current Healthy County (powered by Provant) portal will be deactivated effective Jan. 1. In Feb., employees and covered spouses will be able to access the Healthy County (energized by Sonic Boom) portal to create an account, sync a physical activity device and begin participating. Healthy County will still host four physical activity challenges in 2019 for participating employees to earn a $50 gift card. The first challenge through the new portal begins in March.

With a retention rate of more than 99 percent since 1992, the choice for counties is clear. When they join the Pool, they stay. Over 200 counties and related districts are members of the Pool.
TAC HEBP offers a private exchange renewal option that gives counties and districts more flexibility and choice in the benefits they provide employees.
